Our 2020 PAMLA Conference (Thursday, November 12 through Sunday, November 15) is being hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and held at the classic, recently renovated Sahara Las Vegas Hotel. Las Vegas in general, and the Sahara in particular, provide us with the perfect conference site:

  • Lovely Temperate Weather in November
  • A Vibrant, Exciting City with Great Restaurants, Natural Sites, Museums & Night Life
  • Easy Access from the Sahara to Other Sites via the Las Vegas Monorail, Uber, Lyft, Taxi
  • Inexpensive, Easy-to-Use Las Vegas Airport, or a Brief Drive from Many Cities
  • The Sahara: A Lovely, Renovated, Gem of a Hotel
  • A Beautiful, New, Private Convention Center Just For Us

The Sahara Las Vegas Hotel has been beautifully updated and entirely renovated in the last few years (it became the SLS for a bit, but is now back to its classic name, the Sahara), provides free parking, and has all of the amenities you’ll want, but at an amazingly reasonable, special PAMLA room rate (more information on how to get our special PAMLA rate soon). If you want to get to the rest of the Las Vegas strip from the Sahara, you can just jump on the Las Vegas Monorail, with a station just outside the Sahara, and take a quick ride to the rest of the strip for just a few dollars (the monorail runs from 7 am-2 am on Thursday, and 7-3 am on Fri.-Sunday).

For those of you nervous about sound or smoke issues, here’s the great news: we’ll have the new, beautiful, smoke-free and sound-free (no Muzak or casino noise) Sahara Convention Center all to ourselves for the conference. The Sahara Convention Center is conveniently located just a brief walk from the hotel guest elevators. So, you won’t have to take more than a few steps to get from your room to our conference space! Plus, as those who joined us in San Diego know, we work very hard to make sure you have a great conference experience, with an amazing Reception, coffee, snacks, and terrific speakers throughout the weekend. We pride ourselves at PAMLA on working to create a warm and welcoming, intellectually-stimulating conference. So, if you haven’t attended the PAMLA conference in a while, or if you’ve never attended, or if you are a dedicated PAMLA regular, we hope you’ll consider joining us for this year’s PAMLA conference in vibrant, exciting Las Vegas!
