Why Book Directly Through PAMLA? Choosing to book your hotel room via our official, discounted Hyatt Regency/PAMLA link isn’t just convenient—it actively protects the conference community while saving you money. When you book via our official link, you unlock exclusive perks you cannot get on third-party sites (like Priceline, Expedia, or Airbnb):

  • Ultimate Convenience: Easily step back and forth to your hotel room throughout the day. That seamless convenience helps turn a busy conference schedule into a true intellectual vacation.
  • Terrific, Exclusive Rates: Enjoy a premium room at our luxurious conference hotel for just $199/night (plus tax).
  • Waived Resort Fees: The standard nightly resort fee is completely waived, exclusively for PAMLA attendees.
  • Risk-Free Flexibility: Unlike third-party discount sites, you aren’t locked into a rigid, non-refundable reservation. You can alter or cancel your booking up to 48 hours prior to arrival with zero penalty.
  • Help Keep PAMLA Sustainable: PAMLA receives its vital conference and panel spaces for free only if we fulfill our official hotel room block quota. Booking directly ensures we can keep registration and membership fees low for future conferences.

Crucial Community Policy: Room Cancellations & Transfers Every year, PAMLA loses critical room nights—and faces steep financial penalties—when members cancel their reservations directly with the hotel close to the conference date.

Because our room block is strictly counted, please do not cancel your reservation through the Hyatt website or phone system if your plans change in October or November. Instead, contact Executive Director Craig Svonkin directly at director@pamla.org or 626-354-7526. He will manually and seamlessly transfer your room reservation to a fellow PAMLA member on our waiting list. This simple step protects the organization from penalties and ensures another scholar gets a room at our discounted rate.

A Note for Graduate Students & the Budget-Conscious We want every scholar to be able to attend PAMLA 2026 comfortably. If you are dealing with a tight budget, please consider these two official paths before looking at outside booking sites:

  • Option A: Share a Room at the Hyatt (Recommended). The Hyatt Regency is our central hub—staying here maximizes your networking, saves transit time, and includes free Wi-Fi and waived resort fees. We highly encourage graduate students to find roommates to split the cost. Splitting the $199 rate makes staying at the premier conference hotel incredibly affordable.
  • Option B: The Upcoming Hotel Max Block. If the Hyatt is simply out of reach financially, even with a roommate, please do not lock yourself into an inconvenient or non-refundable third-party rental. PAMLA has secured a limited number of inexpensive rooms at the Hotel Max, specifically to support our graduate students.

When will the Hotel Max room block open? To ensure we manage our primary venue requirements smoothly, booking links for the Hotel Max will be released in a few weeks. If you know you will need this budget option, please rest assured it is coming. Hold off on booking elsewhere, and watch your inbox for the official announcement.

Treat Yourself: Extend Your Stay! Why not transform this conference into a true cultural and intellectual getaway? You deserve a moment to decompress. Consider arriving early or staying late to experience Seattle’s world-class dining, iconic coffee culture, and thriving arts scene.

Our special $199/night rate is honored for extended stays (subject to availability), making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a four-, five-, or six-night Pacific Northwest vacation. Come for a few extra days—Seattle is an exciting destination, and combined with PAMLA 2026, you can’t lose!
