Assistant Professor of Spanish, Mexican Literature Specialist

Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures

Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate classes in Spanish, developing courses and conducting research in area of specialization, mentoring students, and participating in department, college, and university committees. Required qualifications: 1) Native or near-native ability in Spanish; 2) Demonstrated record of success in teaching excellence at the collegiate level; 3) Evidence of scholarly research on late 20th– and 21st-century Mexican literature, and; 4) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Spanish or other closely-related disciplines from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; ABD considered, with degree in hand by 7/30/2016 for continued tenure-track employment.
