Pacific Coast Philology: Join, Read, and Submit!

Pacific Coast Philology (PCP) is the peer-reviewed journal of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA), publishing innovative scholarship across literary studies, linguistics, media studies, cultural studies, and the history of language and texts. A PAMLA membership includes a copy of the journal, as well as online access to back issues, making PCP one of the key intellectual benefits of joining the association.

The most recent issue (Volume 59, Issue 1) is now available through the Scholarly Publishing Collective. To give readers a sense of the journal’s scope and quality, we have a handful of free sample articles, available to read without subscription.

In addition, PCP makes a selection of award-winning essays freely available, including Outstanding Article Award recipients from 2022 onward.

These open-access pieces offer an excellent entry point into the journal’s ongoing conversations and showcase the kind of work PCP is proud to publish. If you are considering submitting an essay for review to PCP, please take a look at these sample essays to see the sort of work the press is looking for.
