The Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) is excited to announce the PAMLA Undergraduate Forum (https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Home/S/19901) for our upcoming 123rd annual conference!
Join us from November 12–15, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Seattle in Seattle, Washington, to share your research and connect with a vibrant academic community.
About the Session
The PAMLA Undergraduate Forum is a dedicated space for undergraduate students to develop, refine, and present their scholarship across a wide variety of humanities topics—including literature, languages, media, film, art, and culture.
This is a unique professional development opportunity: authors of accepted proposals will receive constructive comments and suggestions for revision ahead of the conference. During the session, panelists will have approximately twelve minutes to present their finished papers.
What We Are Looking For
Proposals should meet the following criteria:
- Clear scholarly question: What core inquiry drives your research?
- Grounded: The project should show an awareness of existing scholarship on the topic.
- Focused: The scope of the paper should be limited and manageable for a twelve-minute presentation.
- Strong thesis: The proposal must include a clear, nuanced central argument.
