PAMLA is pround to present “Van Tran Nguyen: Toward A Mutable Representation and Creative Praxis.” This special event at the Hilton Portland Downtown (Saturday, Oct. 28, 2:45-4:15 pm) highlights the creative work of artist, scholar Van Tran Nguyen. Tran Nguyen’s of satiric work explores the Vietnamese diasporic identity and the roots of its construction. Tran Nguyen will discuss her installation work, including i can’t swim (2022) and I like Vietnam but Vietnam likes me okay (2019), her short film Erie County Smile (2021), and her upcoming feature film The Motherload. The event is free!
