PAMLA 2023 is proud to present a special screening of the award-winning film, Murer: Anatomy of a Trial (2018), followed by a discussion with its writer/director, Christian Frosch. The film follows the Austrian trial of Nazi officer and war criminal, Franz Murer, “the Butcher of Vilnius.” Frosch depicts the attempts of Jewish Holocaust survivors to testify, thereby exploring the persistent power of nationalism and anti-Semitic hate, and the difficulty of obtaining justice. Hilton Portland Downtown, Friday, October 27, 12:30 – 3:35 pm. Admission is free for all attendees.
