As you prepare for the PAMLA 2025 conference in San Francisco, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Chairs & Presiding Officers may not invite themselves to their own sessions. Any requests for exceptions must be approved by Executive Director Craig Svonkin (director@pamla.org)
- Scheduling Requests are not accepted—except for religious reasons. If you require accommodation for religious observance, please contact Craig Svonkin well in advance of the conference. Sessions may be scheduled anytime from Thursday morning to Sunday late afternoon.
- In-Person Attendance is required for all participants. If you’re unable to attend, please inform Craig Svonkin as soon as possible. If a chair must cancel, the session will continue with a replacement presider.
- You may chair up to two sessions OR Present one traditional paper and chair one session
Any additional sessions must be reassigned in coordination with Craig Svonkin.
- In addition to presenting a paper in a Panel, you may also participate in one Roundtable, Workshop, Creative session, or Special Event.
- Maximum Participation: Most participants may present twice total (e.g., one traditional paper in a panel + one creative-format session presentation). To request an exception, contact Craig Svonkin.
- All papers must be written by the presenter. Submissions authored by others or generated by AI are not permitted.
- You may not present the same paper or a near-identical version in multiple formats at the conference (e.g., both as a traditional paper and in a roundtable). Likewise, avoid repeating work previously presented at other conferences or at previous PAMLA conferences.
Thank you for helping us make PAMLA 2025 a respectful, dynamic, and well-organized conference experience for all participants. We look forward to seeing you all in San Francisco for an event that celebrates a collaborative space for original scholarship, meaningful dialogue, and vibrant intellectual exchange.
