The 120th Annual PAMLA Conference

The PAMLA 2023 Conference will be held at the Hilton Portland Downtown in Portland, Oregon between October 25-29, 2023.

The 2023 PAMLA Conference is being held entirely in-person. We won’t be having any virtual or hybrid sessions or papers.

The PAMLA Conference Schedule is up and available for study here: https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Webforms/Schedule.aspx

Students and faculty from our five sponsoring universities (see above) may attend the conference for free (those on the conference schedule must still pay their conference fee). Simply come to the conference, check in at the conference registration desk in the Plaza Foyer, and go to the sessions you are interested in attending. Others who wish to attend may pay the conference Auditor fee. Contact PAMLA Executive Director, Craig Svonkin, for more information: [email protected].

Our CFP List is still visible, for those of you wanting to find out more about our sessions.

PAMLA, founded as the Philological Association of the Pacific Coast in 1899, and the western affiliate of the Modern Language Association, is dedicated to the creation, advancement, and diffusion of the aesthetic practices and knowledge of ancient and modern languages, literatures, cultures, and the arts.

Please email Craig Svonkin if you have any questions about PAMLA or the PAMLA conference: [email protected].

PAMLA Accommodations

PAMLA has arranged for a block of guest rooms at the Hilton Portland Downtown, the official PAMLA Conference Hotel and site of our conference, at a very special PAMLA rate. Please check our accommodations page for the reservation link and more information.

The deadline to reserve at the Hilton Portland Downtown has passed. But we’ve added a small room block at the nearby Moxy Portland Downtown at a very special PAMLA rate (a 10 minute walk from the Hilton), which you can find out more about here: https://www.pamla.org/pamla-2023-accommodations/

If you have any questions, or are having a tough time getting a room, please email Craig Svonkin: [email protected].
