Online membership and conference registration now available for PAMLA 2014

We are pleased to announce that PAMLA's new online registration system is now available.  The system is powered by Eventbrite and Paypal, bringing our members ease of use and a secure way to pay their dues and conference fees.  You can also use the online form to purchase seats at the conference luncheons or donate to our graduate scholarship fund.

Membership deadline extended to July 1

Conference participants were originally asked to pay their membership dues by June 15.  Due to the delays in establishing our new online registration system, we have extended the deadline to July 1.  We have high hopes that the new online form will be available by the end of the week.

Submissions Closed for PAMLA 2014

Please consult the Session Topics List to see the latest list of sessions still accepting proposals.

Special Theme for PAMLA 2014

The 2014 PAMLA Conference in Riverside, California (Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2014) will encounter the theme "Familiar Spirits." We invite participants to consider papers and sessions on magic, conjuring, spirits, hauntings, Spiritualism, and manifestations as well as presentations that treat the familiar, familial, and the commonplace in relation to the paranormal, strange, and uncanny. We anticipate rich and vibrant discussions that defamiliarize the known and draw near the mysterious.

Special Session Proposals for PAMLA 2014 due December 15

Next year's conference will take place at the Riverside Convention Center in California, October 31-November 2, 2014.  Special Session proposals for the 2014 conference are due to PAMLA’s 2014 First Vice-President Heidi Schlipphacke (University of Illinois, Chicago), by December 15, 2013:  heidis@uic.edu.  Please send Professor Schlipphacke your name, affiliation, preferred email address, and a session title and brief abstract (@ 50 words).
