116th Annual Conference - Bellingham, Washington
Friday, November 9 - Sunday, November 11, 2018

Young Adult Literature

Presiding Officer:
Taylor D. McCabe, University of California, Irvine

Focusing on the fraught time between childhood and adulthood, Young Adult literature offers critical insight into the developmental tensions of youth, as well as the effects (joyous, fearful, liberating, constraining, painful) of performing adolescence on and off the page. The Young Adult Literature session invites your proposal on any theme or topic of study pertaining to the vibrant field of YA literature and culture. We welcome engaging, provocative analyses of YA literature and texts (including graphic novels, comic books, video games, and films). Proposals attending to the conference theme, "Acting, Roles, Stages," are especially welcome.
