This session welcomes papers exploring new approaches to and explorations of vampires in image, text, and cultural practice, including vampires on film, in novels, on TV, on the stage, in games, and in other cultural practices and depictions. We welcome explorations of the vampire as other, as subaltern, as romantic, or as abject, as well as papers that shed light on other vampires—undead figures beyond such celebrated vampires as Count Orlok, Dracula, Lestat, Angel, Barnabas Collins, and Edward Cullen, including vampires and vampire-like figures from a variety of eras, media, and cultures.
