116th Annual Conference - Bellingham, Washington
Friday, November 9 - Sunday, November 11, 2018

Food Studies

Presiding Officer:
Elizabeth Reimer, Thompson Rivers University

As a field, Food Studies challenges visible or invisible boundaries that previous scholarship maintains, investigating how the complicated relationship among national narratives, power entanglements, family structures, and historical and political registers is mediated imaginatively and institutionally through food/consumption. This approved session welcomes any proposals on food studies, but paper proposals exploring the connections between children, childhood, or children's literature and food, eating, or related issues are of particular interest.
