Veterans Studies: Perceptions on the World Stage

Presiding Officer:
Nan Darbous Marthaller, American Military University
Kathryn A. Broyles, American Military University

Veterans Studies is a growing field of research that addresses the significant impact of military personnel transitioning from active duty to civilian life. All the world is a ‘stage’ for military personnel and their families. Their stories and experiences as they ‘act’ in foreign locations is a rich part of human culture that veterans bring with them when they return to civilian life. This session invites papers that explore the many facets of the military experience including literature, theatre, film, and poetry written about or by military veterans.
