Graduate Student Scholarships

Submissions for this form are closed.

Thanks to the generous support of many PAMLA members, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships for select graduate students who will be presenting papers at the 2011 conference.  Unfortunately, given the fact that scholarship funds come entirely from PAMLA member donations, only a limited number of scholarships are available.

PAMLA members may make donations to the Graduate Student Scholarship Fund by mailing checks made out to PAMLA to Craig Svonkin, or via our online ACTEVA membership form.

Eligibility

  • Must be current member of PAMLA at the time of application.
  • Must be graduate student completing work towards an M.A., M.F.A., or Ph.D.  Post-docs are not eligible.
  • Must have a paper proposal marked as confirmed for the 2011 conference.

Amounts Awarded

In previous years, awards have ranged between $25 and $130.  Last year, the average amount awarded was $65, with the maximum award being $120.

Application Process

Eligible graduate students must submit an online application with a 500-word abstract of their conference paper by August 1 using the form below.

Applications will be evaluated by the PAMLA Executive Committee. Notification of final decisions on awards will occur by September 1, 2011.
