Our outgoing graduate student representative, Lorenzo Giachetti, has organized a casual mixer for PAMLA graduate students on Sunday, November 14th, beginning at 7:30pm, at the Doubletree Alana Bistro & Wine Bar. If you are a graduate student, please take a moment to fill out this online survey to tell us about your interests. More details about graduate student participation and the mixer appear below.
Dear PAMLA graduate students,
I have very much enjoyed serving as Graduate Student Representative to PAMLA over the past two years. With my term expiring after this November’ s conference, I would like to reach out to fellow graduate students and encourage a stronger sense of community among us, something my successor will hopefully continue to build upon. Despite our limited budget and difficulties traveling, we form an important, integral part of PAMLA, whose many generous members continue to show their support through the Graduate Student Scholarship Fund. As the next generation of professors and scholars, I think it is essential for us to become better acquainted with one another, and to also feel comfortable voicing any of our concerns to the Executive Committee directly through our representative.
I am organizing a very casual mixer for those among us traveling to Hawaii, at the Doubletree wine bar, Sunday evening at 7:30 PM. This will be a good opportunity for the graduate students to meet and exchange ideas, as well as hopefully meet our new representative.

Thank you for your time; I'm looking forward to hearing from (and meeting) you soon.
With best wishes,
Lorenzo Giachetti
