PUBLIC TRANSIT:
It is a bit tricky to get to the Hampton via public transit, inasmuch as you’ll have to walk for about 15-25 minutes to the hotel from the closest BART station, and the walk is rather unpleasant (lots of traffic). You could perhaps take a taxi from the BART stop to the hotel.

It is a bit inconvenient to use public transit from the Hampton. Having a car is much easier, though going the public transit route is doable.
